Frames

A frame is a structure composed of rigid members connected by rigid or pinned joints. Unlike trusses, frame members can carry axial forces, shear forces, and bending moments. Frames are analyzed using the method of joints, method of sections, or by considering member end forces. Rigid frames transfer moments through joints.
