Statistical Process Control (SPC) uses statistical methods to monitor and control processes. SPC aims to distinguish between common cause (inherent process variation) and special cause (assignable) variation. Control charts are the primary tool of SPC. Process stability is achieved when only common cause variation is present. SPC helps reduce variation, improve quality, and increase productivity.
